Inverness Gig & Thanks

Have been meaning to put this post up for awhile now, but have just been recovering and getting things all sorted out after the launch.

So Ironworks has got to be one of the best gigs I ever played. The crowd was absolutely incredible, making the EP launch show sooo good, couldn’t of asked for anything more.  Big up to Thousand Stars and Ryan McEwan for the great support.

So then we had day of rest before heading on home. Me and Moteh shared the driving back home to Guildford which is why there has been no updates as we have been catching up on sleep and stuff. Ben and Liam got a coach home, overnight, which I heard wasn’t very enjoyable at all.

But yeah, big thanks list now for everyone over the tour we need to thank, hopefully I remember everyone, sorry if i forget anyone.

Mairi Hutchinson and Kako for letting us stay at their house in Glasgow, Record Player for supporting us in Glasgow, Amy Cameron for letting us stay with her in Edinburgh, Elephant Gun for supporting us in Edinburgh, Sophie Chattington for organising everything in St.Andrew and letting us stay with her, Robbie for doing merch for us in Inverness, Calum Martin and Scott Cunningham for doing all the lights and sound in Inverness plus everyone else who helped them with that and everyone who came down to our gigs over the tour period.

Big thanks to:

Andy Ruddy for supporting us in each of our gigs, always good fun having him around, Eleanor Parrott for driving us around Scotland and looking after us, the Parrott family for housing us and looking after us for the majority of the tour and my parents for bring us all our gear and bringing it back home.

Sorry if i missed anyone out.

We’ll try and keep these blog things regular!

St Andrews on the beach! Good, if slightly odd gig… the venue we had booked with cancelled us last minute because the Chelsea vs Barcelona match was on, but luckily our friend Sophie managed to book us another pub! Looked like it would be a big night, but it turned out we kept being told to be quiet by the bar staff or the police would turn up! Outstanding ‘music venue’. Still, was a great night. If you were there, thanks so much for coming down!

Today we were straight to Moray Firth Radio in Inverness for a session, which should be broadcast this Sunday, and again in a few weeks.

We are all pretty tired now, just re-charging our batteries before the big Ironworks E.P launch tomorrow night! Very excited :)

Here is the accommodation that the rest of the band stayed at, thanks again to Amy Cameron for providing this place to say.

I was actually hoping for them to have slept in worse condition because it would of given better photos and i could have been smug about where i stayed. But they actually had a pretty good layout… Oh well.

Edinburgh Gig

Just came back from the Edinburgh gig, absolutely awesome! Cheers to everyone that came to the show. Was good to have physical copies of the CDs to sell this time! Loving the crazy man drinking pints of wine at the gig, loving every second, breaking out some of the poor dance moves we were doing the other night as well.

This is a post from a lovely hotel room in a incredibly comfy bed, thank parents for this, they are up here in Scotland on holiday and happened to have a spare bed i could snatch! However i can only imagine the rest of the band are sleeping pretty rough again, this time accommodation provided by the lovely Amy Cameron. She also did the art for ‘Peace of Mind’. We will have to get a different point of view of there night tomorrow.

So St.Andrews tomorrow, ridiculous amounts of gear and people to take in our 2 small cars, could be interesting but will definitely make it at some point. Gonna be a killer night.

Finally our Facebook competition ends today-ish so makes sure you check it out before it does. Just head to our FB page. facebook/redkitesmusic.

Big thanks today to Amy Cameron and my parents for accommodation.

So more driving and stuff tomorrow, until then goodnight!

Glasgow Gig

Last night’s gig in the Classic Grand was gallus! Thanks to everyone who came down to the show, made the first gig of the ‘Beat In Time’ tour a good one! Also if you filmed us playing ‘Beat In Time’ can you please send the footage to us at redkitesmusic@hotmail.co.uk or send it to us via wetransfer.com.

After the gig we came back to Mairi’s house, the girl’s flat we have been staying at the last few days. She also did the artwork for ‘The Artist’ what a great lass! Also her boyfriend Kako (Legend), Sister Eleanor and Flatmate Jenny were here for our little after party.

We got some beers and lambrini. Made some lamb-shandys, got some great finger popping tunes on and busted out the dance moves. Liams special, the hip thrust in the general direction of Motehs face, My small attempt at the worm and the girls moonwalk attempt definitely made this a super lame party… But it was all good fun.

We are later picking up all the CDs and heading off to Edinburgh today for our next gig, Super Fun Times!!!

Big thanks to Mairi, Kako and Jenny for letting us stay at your flat, you guys are super awesome!

Lads on tour

Today we set off to Glasgow to meet “Benny G” at the airport a day before the gig. We were slightly late picking him up….about 2 or 3 hours late but he was happy pretending to be an aeroplane in the arrival lounge. We then forced Eleanor (Moteh’s sister) to carry all our of equipment into the flat we are staying at and make us cups of tea. LOL!!!!!
