It was chaos! After netsounds unsigned got us on this festival we could stop thinking about it. Our first festival.
So standard festival stuff, aim to stay a steady drunk throughout the festival… Failed.
Friday was set up camp and met up with the people we’d be staying with. Great fun, obviously got drunk early enough to go see the bands you didn’t know but still have a good time. However I only managed to go see Noah & the Whale and Mumford & Sons. But i didn’t really mind I only wanted to see Bastille, Little Comets and Biffy that weekend really, so that was the mission. But on Friday we did conquer Liams fear of ferris wheels, which is a weird phobia.
Saturday was the day we were playing we got a small interview by Marion Scott from MFR backstage before we were playing which will be broadcast this Sunday on MFR radio at some point.
After that we went to hand out all the flyers we had printed which all had the wrong time as our time we were playing kept getting changed, so we had 1000 flyers with the wrong time on them, but they still did the trick.
Then it was our time to play, can say for myself it was the best gig i’ve ever played and probably the best day of my life. The crowd were just incredible and couldn’t have asked for a better one to share that moment with. Thanks to everyone there, they made that a special day and a milestone for Red Kites.
After that we had a interview with Smoke TV which we will post when we find it and a very funny interview with Netsounds Unsigned which you can listen to here.

We then got to a nice state of Equilibrium and went and saw Bastille, I managed to go backstage and meet them after as well although I don’t think they knew what I was talking about.
Finally Sunday arrived, the day i’d been looking forward to the entire weekend. Saw Little Comets in the morning and after them left a big gap to do something, so obviously we went and got back on the drinking. However this time I overcooked it… and passed out… and missed Biffy Clyro, the one band I was most looking forward to. I can only blame myself, I heard they were amazing, which doesn’t help but nothing i can really do.
Big thanks to everyone at Rockness, Netsounds Unsigned, Everyone we camped with, the stage manager for us, Parrott family. Too many thanks to give.
What a weekend, one which will stay with us for the rest of our life.
